About us
GYST VA Services is run by me. Jo Hayes. I have been working in administration and bookkeeping roles for the last 30 years. With a background also covering sales, event management and running a charitable trust, I really am the “Jackie” of all trades and can help you in many aspects of your business.
Originally from the UK, I have made Auckland, NZ my home for the last 20 years. Eight years ago I founded a charitable organisation called GrandFriends NZ to fill a personal need I had in my life of having local grandparent support for my kids. GrandFriends matches young families with children, with older members of our community to forge long lasting friendships and provide support and companionship. Now a nationwide organisation, I currently sit on the Board, and work occasionally in the operations side of the organisation when it needs me.
Personally, I am a single Mum to two fabulous kids who are growing up waaaaay too fast for my liking! They are almost 14 and almost 10. One of each!
In my spare time, I enjoy board games, going to the movies, hanging out with friends, Laughter yoga (yes, you can ask me about this, as I can run workshop/team building sessions for your staff), am attempting to get out on my new e-bike(!), and I love to read, both fiction and non-fiction. I am a life-long learner.
